Jack Reacher - The Movie

Can this ever be as good as the books? Ever since Top Gun, I've always thought Tom was cool, I obviously stopped thinking this as I a. grew up, b. saw him in many terrible films, c. scientology, d. the list goes on... Anyway I still don't hate the guy, and I have faith, so can he be a good Jack Reacher, sadly I very very much doubt it. Bear in mind I have now read 12 of the 17 Jack Reacher books [its a long story about why, etc] and as you can tell Im pretty addicted, so even with Mr Tom a actor I still have some faith in, and who was a childhood icon, I am scared that this could ruin the illusion, the dream, I guess I just have to read the other 4 [currently last 100 pages of number 13] bloody quickly..
